Bad blood spilled out of the ring in Puerto Rico as World Wrestling Entertainment star Alberto Del Rio was attacked by a fan during an independent show on Saturday, December 5 at Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Puerto Rico. The whole incident was captured by fan video and resulted in the fan being ejected.
Del Rio, who was allowed to appear at the World Wrestling Council because he made the commitment prior to returning to the WWE in October, was in a match with Puerto Rican wrestler Ray Gonzalez when he rolled out of the ring to catch a breather, a classic heel, or bad guy, move, according to WrestleZone.com.
As Del Rio moved towards the barricade, a fan in a yellow shirt is seen attacking the current WWE U.S. champion. Del Rio grabbed the fan before security interceded and broke up the incident. Gonzalez alertly threw Del Rio into the ring to continue the match and keep his opponent safe. The match ended with Del Rio being disqualified after his real life brother El Hijo de Dos Caras interrupted in the match.
The incident is a reminder of the danger that wrestlers, who feed off the interaction with fans, face when they perform. – Rappler.com
