MANILA, Philippines - The Golden State Warriors outscored the Portland Trail Blazers 34-12 in the fourth quarter as the defending champion Warriors defeat the Blazers, 110-99, in Game 2 of their NBA Western Conference semifinals series on Wednesday, May 4 (Manila time) at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.
Klay Thompson scored 27 points to lead all scorers in the absence of reigning MVP Stephen Curry, who is out with a knee injury, as 5 Warriors scored in double figures. Portland's scoring was led by the 25 and 22 from Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, respectively, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Warriors from taking a 2-0 series lead.
The Warriors were caught cold in the first quarter after Portland raced into a double-digit lead, holding a 34-21 advantage heading into the second quarter. The Blazers had led throughout the game until a Thompson 3-pointer with 5:33 left in the fourth quarter gave the Warriors their first lead of the game.
