MANILA, Philippines – The Los Angeles Clippers and Memphis Grizzlies agreed on a deal that will see guard Lance Stephenson and forward Jeff Green switch teams, Yahoo! and ESPN reported on Friday, February 19.
The deal between both teams also includes a “heavily protected” first round pick in the 2019 NBA Draft that Los Angeles will send to Memphis.
Both Stephenson (club option for next season) and Green are playing on contract years.
Green, 29, re-joins his former coach Doc Rivers with the Clippers as they look to improve on their 35-18 record and contend for a championship. This season, he’s averaged 12.2 points and 4.5 rebounds a game.
Stephenson, 25, averaged 4.7 points and 2.5 rebounds a contest in 43 games for Los Angeles this season. He joins a Grizzlies team that’s currently 31-22, but just lost Marc Gasol to a fractured foot injury. – Rappler.com
