If you only had one day in Bacolod City, what restaurants can't you miss out?
Before exploring the mountain ranges and islands in Negros Occidental, Gameplan host Julian Rodriguez went on a gastronomic trip in Bacolod City. Here are three of his favorite spots:
1. Aida's Chicken, Manokan Country
"If I imagine the smell of Bacolod, it would be inasal. It would be just inasal. Anything that's related to that, that's instantly Bacolod," he said. Julian has been to Bacolod many times in his life and he never failed to get his chicken fix. This time however, he was allowed to go inside the kitchen, meet the cook, and grill his own meal.

2. Calea Cakes and Pastries
Calea is Bacolod's famed bakeshop, with mouthwatering cakes and pastries lined up in their display counters. People just keep coming back because of the wide array of deserts you can try for very reasonable prices.
"I try not to eat too many sweet things but I really had to do that one. There was just so many things on the table that you can try. And it was so amazing to have this whole selection right infront of you. It was not a regrettable night," he said.

Aside from it being a favorite food trip hotspot, Bacolod City is also the jump-off point for different travel destinations in Negros Occidental. "I really enjoyed having experienced the night and the day and all the restaurants. It was just so varied. But I feel that there are more things to explore outside of Bacolod. Because we all know, it's not just the city, it's what surrounds it too," said Julian. – Rappler.com
