MANILA, Philippines - After being down by 8 at halftime, Chooks to Go Pilipinas turned it around and won by 8, 73-65, against Kazakh club BC Astana thanks to Kiefer Ravena’s heroics and import Isaiah Austin’s defense and rebounding.
While Austin made noise on the court with his 17 points, 18 rebounds and 6 blocks, another import made a different kind of noise off it: Astana import Justin Carter.

BC Astana is one of the most successful basketball clubs of Kazakhstan, as they are the current champions of the Kazakhstan Basketball Championship tournament and Kazakhstan Basketball Cup, both abbreviated as KBC. The club also rode a championship four-peat in both KBCs from 2011 to 2014. Only the Astana Tigers’ 6-peat from 2004-2009 has surpassed BC Astana in terms of overall success.
