TNT improves to 8-1 after easily beating San Miguel

MANILA, Philippines – TNT KaTropa won for the eighth time in 9 games in the PBA Governors’ Cup elimination round after easily defeating the San Miguel Beermen in a blowout, 105-85, on Saturday, September 3, at the Batangas City Coliseum.

TNT outscored San Miguel by 14, 33-19, in the third quarter which allowed the KaTropa to pull away and cruise to the victory. As a consequence of the loss, the Beermen fell to 6-3 in the standings.

Ranidel De Ocampo led all TNT scorers with 18 points and added 5 boards, while his veteran co-partner Jayson Castro registered a double-double with 16 points and 13 assists. Rookie Troy Rosario also played well with 13 points and 6 rebounds.

San Miguel was led by the 20 points and 13 boards of reigning PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo. Import Michael Singletary added 18 points and 7 rebounds, while Alex Cabagnot scored 17 points.

New Beermen Asian import Mahmoud Abdeen made his conference debut and finished with 9 points on 3-of-10 shooting. – Rappler.com
