MANILA, Philippines – The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters had their most impressive win of the PBA Governors’ Cup by defeating the Mahindra Enforcers, 103-88, on Friday, September 2, at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
New Rain or Shine import Jason Forte made his conference debut but played limited action, finishing with 10 points and 6 rebounds in a little under 17 minutes. The 6-foot-5 forward previously played for the Alaska Aces in the same conference during the 2012 PBA season.
The win improved the record of the Elasto Painters to 4-4. Mahindra, which was coming in on a two-game win streak, dropped to 6-3 but remains on the higher half of the league standings.
Including the new import, 6 guys scored in double-figures for Rain or Shine. Raymond Almazan led the way with 14 points while Beau Belga added 13 points and 8 boards.
Aldrech Ramos had 17 points off the bench to lead Mahindra, but suffered an ankle injury in the second half. Import James White had 16 points and 10 boards. Senator Manny Pacquiao also played 4 minutes but didn’t score or attempt a single shot. – Rappler.com
