MANILA, Philippines – Anthony “Rumble” Johnson made his case for a shot at Daniel Cormier’s light heavyweight championship with resounding clarity by knocking out Brazilian fighter Glover Teixeira in the co-headliner of UFC 202 on Saturday, August 20 (Sunday Manila time).
The 32-year-old American juggernaut finished the job in just 13 seconds by delivering a thunderous right uppercut that solidly landed to the chin of Teixeira.

Johnson followed it up with two hard hammerfists to the head of the already-unconscious Teixeira before referee Dan Miragliotta stepped in to halt the contest.
Teixeira seemed to be the last to get the painful news, regaining consciousness and immediately looking for a single-leg takedown on Miragliotta.
Johnson improves his prizefighting record to 22-5 with the impressive victory over Teixeira, who downgrades to a professional win-loss slate of 25-5.
“Rumble” is seeking to earn another date with Cormier, who defeated him for the vacant light heavyweight title via third-round submission in May 2015.
“I’m working hard to get to the title,” Johnson said in his post-fight interview. “I’ve been busting my butt off to get to the title. And Daniel? You the man, baby. But I’m coming.” – Rappler.com
