Terrence Romeo repeats as PBA 3-Point Shootout champion

MANILA, Philippines – GlobalPort Batang Pier guard Terrence Romeo won his second straight PBA All-Star Weekend 3-point shootout competition on Friday, August 5, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Romeo, who scored 20 points in the final round, defeated the two other finalists in KG Canaleta and and RJ Jazul, both of whom shot 17 points each.

The GlobalPort guard joins Mark Macapagal, Boyet Fernandez, Jasper Ocampo, and Allan Caidic as the only players to win the competition back to back.

A total of 12 players competed in this year’s 3-point shootout, with one player representing each PBA team and the top 3 advancing to the finals. Romeo scored 24 points in the first round, which was second in the field next to KG Canaleta’s 25. Jazul came in third with 22 points

Canaleta, a 5-time PBA Slam Dunk Champion, broke the PBA’s record for most points scored in the 3-point shootout during his first-round performance.
