MANILA, Philippines – When Andrew Bogut arrived at the Olympic Village for the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil, it’s safe to say he wasn’t so pleased with the accommodations.

The Dallas Mavericks big man took to Twitter and used a sarcastic, #IOCLuxuryLodging hashtag to talk about the room, including posting a picture of a shower curtain.

However, the chief of the Australian Olympic mission - Kitty Chiller - said that Bogut’s comments were all in good fun.

“He’s the best man to fix a shower curtain as he’s exactly the right height,” Chiller said, according to The Guardian. “It [the tweet] was a bit of fun. The village is what it is – we’re all mucking in and doing stuff and there’s no harm in it.

“He’s got a big bed with a nice big mosquito net. He’s like a princess in there.”

The report also includes that the comments were said a week after the Australian national team did not move into the village over concerns of “blocked toilets, peaking pipes, and exposed wirings.”

Another issue which took place for the Aussies was when they were forced to evacuate their rooms in a high-rise apartment for Olympic athletes due to a basement fire.

The evacuation led to theft, with two laptops and team shirts being stolen. – Rappler.com
