MANILA, Philippines – The National Basketball Association (NBA) announced through a press release on Friday, July 29, that Milwaukee Bucks guard Michael Carter-Williams will visit Manila from August 19-21 for this year’s NBA 3X Philippines.
Carter-Williams, the 2014 NBA Rookie of the Year out of Syracuse, was quoted as saying “I’m excited to visit the Philippines and experience Filipino fan’s passion for basketball during the 3X.
“Being a part of this event is a great opportunity to see the growth of the game internationally, and I look forward to working with these talented athletes.”
Now in its sixth straight year, NBA 3X Philippines “will include a 3-on-3 tournament featuring 200 men’s and women’s teams from all over the country,” per the NBA’s press release.
Carter-Williams, 24, is set to be present for all activities during the 3 days for the event.
The incoming fourth-year player averaged 11.5 points, 5.2 assists, and 5.1 rebounds a game for Milwaukee last season. Before getting traded to the Bucks in 2015, Carter-Williams played for the Philadelphia 76ers. – Rappler.com
