MANILA, Philippines – Mighty Sports remained unbeaten and improved to a 4-0 record in the 36th William Jones Cup after defeating Japan, 87-66, in Taiwan on Wednesday, July 27.
Representing the Philippines in the tournament, the import-laden team raced off to a 17-3 edge early in the game and didn't look back the rest of the way to remain at the top spot of the standings.
Four players scored in double-figures for Mighty Sports, led by the 15 points of Zach Graham. Dewarick Spencer added 14 points.
Former PBA imports Al Thornton and Vernon Macklin each registered 11 points, while Hamady N'Diaye nearly had a double-double with 8 points and 10 rebounds.
Mighty Sports has already clinched wins against Chinese Taipei A, South Korea, and Sacramento State (USA). The team will aim to go 5-0 against India on Thursday, July 28. – Rappler.com
