MANILA, Philippines – Gilas Pilipinas moved a step closer to attaining the gold medal in the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship after they defeated Japan, 81-70, in the semifinal round on Friday, October 2.

Led by the 22 points of Andray Blatche, 20 by Jayson Castro, and 18 of Dondon Hontiveros, the men’s national basketball team booked a date against China in the finals on Saturday, October 3, with a ticket to the 2016 Rio Olympics on the line.

The gold medal game is scheduled for 8:30 pm.
