MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – The Philippine team continues its onslaught in the 2016 SEABA Stankovic Cup with Indonesia as its latest victim, 83-52, for a third straight victory on Wednesday, May 25 at Stadium 29 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Gilas cadets, who previously dominated Malaysia and Singapore the past few days, cruised to this latest win with improving defense, limiting their opponent to under 55 points but still turned the ball over 18 times.

Indonesia scored only 9 points in the final quarter compared to the Philippines' 23.

Mike Tolomia led the way with 12 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds, a steal and a block. RR Pogoy also had 12 markers while Kevin Ferrer added 10.

Surliyadin topscored among the Indonesians with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.

The Philippines will close out the single-round robin elimination round against host Thailand on Thursday, May 26. (READ: Racela warns Gilas cadets: Thailand is a SEABA gold threat)

Head coach Nash Racela is wary about potential complacency against the Thais.

"As a team I think we have the tendency of relaxing on defense. We can't do that against Thailand," he said during the post-game interview. "They're well-prepared for this tournament."

After the eliminations, the battle for third place and the championship matches will take place on Friday, May 27. – Rappler.com
