MANILA, Philippines – Paul Lee sank a jumper as the seconds wound down in Game 2 and the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters escaped with a narrow 105-103 victory ove the Alaska Aces to go up 2-0 in the 2016 PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals Sunday, May 8 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Lee's basket broke a 103-all deadlock set by import Rob Dozier almost 27 seconds earlier as Rain or Shine blew a 9-point lead in the final 3:28. He finished with 17 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and two steals.
Jeff Chan also had 17 points on a perfect 3-of-3 shooting from distance as a short-handed Alaska absorbed another stinging setback.
The Aces were without injured key men Vic Manuel and JVee Casio.
RJ Jazul sizzled for 5-of-6 shooting from 3-point range to lead Alaska with 24 points. Dozier added 20 markers, 9 boards and 3 assists in a losing cause.
