MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines' under-18 national men's basketball team came out guns ablaze in the 2016 SEABA Under-18 Championship with an opening-day thrashing of Thailand, 101-45, on Saturday, April 23 in Medan, Indonesia.
The Philippines, represented by Batang Gilas, is one of 6 countries competing in the tournament, where the top 3 finishers will qualify for this year's FIBA Asia U18 Championship in Iran by July.

Rendell Joseph Lee as well as Joshua Sinclair each tallied 12 points, with Sinclair added 11 rebounds and two assists off the bench. John Bryle Bahio had 10 points and 7 rebounds in the rout, where Batang Gilas broke the game open in the second quarter.
