MANILA, Philippines – The DLSU Lady Spikers bounced back from their 5-set defeat to the Ateneo Lady Eagles with a 4-set victory over the NU Lady Bulldogs, 25-14, 21-25, 25-19, 25-15, on Wednesday, April 13, at the San Juan Arena.
The game was non-bearing for DLSU which will have the number two seed and face number 3 FEU whether they won or loss the game. NU, on the other hand, needed a win to force a playoff against UP for the last Final Four spot.
With the Lady Bulldogs’ defeat to the Lady Spikers, the Lady Maroons earn the ticket to the next round where they will face the defending champion Ateneo Lady Eagles.
Kim Dy led La Salle with 5 points while Mary Joy Baron scored 13 in the win where La Salle had more spikes that National U, 49-32. DLSU also scored more on blocks, 12-5, and serves, 13-5
Jaja Santiago led NU in its last game of the season with 14 points. The Roger Gorayeb-coached team will go into the offseason finishing with a 7-7 record.
