Palaro special games athlete electrocuted, rushed to hospital

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – A special games category athlete of Mimaropa (Region 4B) was rushed to the hospital after she got an electric shock on Wednesday, April 13, during the ongoing 2016 Palarong Pambansa here.

Pamela Tabastabas was going up the stairs of a Jollibee food truck stationed at the Albay Sports and Tourism Complex located inside the Bicol University when she got electrocuted.

Tabastabas is competing in the standing long jump event. 

She was accompanied to the hospital by Carolyn Silas, the one in charge of the Jollibee food truck for Wednesday.

Silas said the food truck was recently checked and they detected no problems. She added they do not have any idea what happened and that they will investigate. 

As of posting, the Jollibee food truck was being cordoned off. – Rappler.com
