MANILA, Philippines – Terrence Romeo posted 40 points and 6 assists, while import Shawn Taggart registered 45 points and 17 boards, as the GlobalPort Batang Pier snapped a 6-game losing streak, thanks to a 125-118 victory over the Phoenix Fuel Masters on Friday, April 8, at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
It was the first win in weeks for GlobalPort, which finished its Commissioner’s Cup elimination round campaign with a 3-8 record. Phoenix fell to 3-7 and dropped out of playoff contention.
RR Garcia led Phoenix with 21 points while Mick Pennisi scored 17 points off the bench.
