MANILA, Philippines – The Golden State Warriors once again displayed their superiority at home over the biggest challengers to their throne in the Western Conference following a dominant 112-101 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, April 8, at the Oracle Arena.

Coming off a loss to the young Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State controlled the pace of the game and ran San Antonio out of the building with its explosive offense.

The win improved the Warriors' record to 70-9. If they go 3-0 in their remaining 3 games, they will break the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls' record for most wins in an NBA regular season (72-10).

San Antonio's record, meanwhile, dropped to 65-13, which means Golden State will end up with the best record in the NBA and will have homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs.

The game between both teams marked the first time in league history that two teams with at least 65 wins faced off in a regular season matchup.

The Spurs and Warriors will meet again before the regular season ends on Monday, April 11 (Manila time), where San Antonio puts its undefeated 39-0 record at home on the line. If the Spurs finish the season 41-0 at home, they will be the first team to do so in league history. – Rappler.com
