MANILA, Philippines – The Golden State Warriors moved closer to breaking the Chicago Bulls’ 72-10 NBA regular season record set in 1996 with a 128-120 victory over the shorthanded Dallas Mavericks on Saturday, March 26, at the Oracle Arena.
Klay Thompson led Golden State with 40 points and 9 3-pointers, while his Splash Brother Steph Curry had 33 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 steals.
It was the second time this season the Warriors won on their home floor during Filipino Heritage Night, the last one taking place during a win over the Brooklyn Nets on November 15.
Dallas sat both Dirk Nowitzki and Deron Williams and was led by the 26 points of Wes Matthews. David Lee started and finished with 12 points plus 9 boards.
Prior to the game, Lee, who was a part of the Warriors’ NBA title team last season and played with the franchise from 2010-2015, was honored with a tribute video and received his championship ring.

Golden State improved to 65-7 with the win, while Dallas dropped to 35-37.
