MANILA, Philippines – The Meralco Bolts got back on the winning track with an easy 106-83 victory over the Blackwater Elite on Friday, March 18, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
The Bolts didn’t waste any time asserting their superiority by going up 8 after 12 minutes of play and holding on the rest of the way to improve to 6-2, currently the best record in the Commissioner’s Cup.
The Elite dropped their second straight game and fell to 3-5.
Meralco import Arinze Onuaku led the way with 27 points and 17 rebounds while rookie Baser Amer had an impressive showing by posting 15 points.
Blackwater import MJ Rhett struggled with only 8 points on 0-of-7 shooting. Mike Cortez led the team with 15 points and 4 boards.
