MANILA, Philippines – The National University Bullpups and San Beda Red Cubs advanced to the finals of the 2016 National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) with big wins on Wednesday, March 16, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
A new champion for the tournament’s Division 1 will be crowned when both teams face on Thursday.
In the first game on Wednesday, NU – the UAAP Season 78 juniors champion – beat Chiang Kai Shek College, 72-49.
The Bullpups were led by 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks of UAAP Finals MVP Justine Baltazar, while John Clemente also played well by producing 13 points.
Miguel Oczon led CKSC with 13 points and 3 boards.
In the second game, San Beda defeated the NBTC’s defending champion, Sacred Hear School-Ateneo de Cebu, 86-75.
Dynamic Duo Evan Nelle and Sam Abu Hijleh led the Red Cubs with 16 points apiece in the winning effort.
Eroll Pastor led the losing side with 22 points and 25 rebounds, while Jed Colonia was limited to only 7 points due to foul trouble. – Rappler.com
