MANILA, Philippines - The Blackwater Elite earned a win over last conference's runner-up Alaska Aces, 107-101, on Friday, February 19 at Mall of Asia Arena for their second win in the 2016 PBA Commissioner's Cup.
Alaska was without import Rob Dozier, who sat out with an undisclosed injury. In his absence Vic Manuel (20 points) and Sonny Thoss (18 points and 8 rebounds) stepped up, but it was not enough to overcome Blackwater.
Blackwater's Carlo Lastimosa topped all scorers with 24 points and import MJ Rhett turned in a triple-double with 18 points, 21 rebounds and 10 assists.
Blackwater now raises its record to 2-1 while Alaska debuts at 0-1. Both teams return on February 24, with Blackwater facing Star and Alaska meeting Tropang TNT. – Rappler.com
