MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Jaja Santiago scored 11 points off 9 attacks and two service aces as the NU Lady Bulldogs pummeled the hapless UE Lady Warriors, 25-12, 25-13, 25-16, in the women's volleyball tournament of UAAP Season 78 on Sunday, February 14 at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Bulldogs accomplished 3 straight wins after dropping their first game of the season to defending champions Ateneo Lady Eagles.
"I told them we should use our win against La Salle as motivation," head coach Roger Gorayeb said in Filipino. "I told them to not waste this opportunity."
"Their motivation increased. I told them they need to be consistent," he added.
Myla Pablo had 9 points, while Aiko Urdas and Marites Pablo tallied 6 points apiece in a match where every Lady Bulldog save for the liberos made it to the scoring column.
The still winless UE had Shaya Adorador and Celine Domingo leading with 5 points each. Lack of maturity and experience are still plaguing the Lady Warriors, who never stood a chance to their veteran foes from the first set. UE fell behind by double digits early on.
