LOS ANGELES, USA - Stephen Curry's return to action for the Golden State Warriors was cut short on Sunday, January 3 (Manila time) when he re-injured his bruised left shin.

Curry played 14 minutes in the Warriors' home game against the Denver Nuggets before getting hit on his still sore leg and departing the contest. The Warriors blew a 26-point lead but held on to defeat the Nuggets in overtime, 111-108.

The reigning NBA Most Valuable Player finished with 5 points on two-of-6 shooting from the field, including making one of 5 3-point attempts. He had 4 assists and two steals.

Curry sat out games on Wednesday and Thursday in Dallas and Houston with what the team called a lower leg bruise.

In his absence the Warriors suffered just their second loss of the season to the Mavericks before bouncing back to beat the Rockets.

Warriors interim coach Luke Walton indicated Saturday that he and his coaching staff would keep a close eye on Curry.

Curry himself said before the game that he was still experiencing pain and swelling in his lower leg. – Rappler.com
