MANILA, Philippines – The 2015-2016 PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals opens in style when two familiar rivals in Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Star Hotshots tip-off their quarters series on Christmas Day, Friday at 7:00 pm at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Coming in as the fourth seed and with a twice-to-beat advantage, Ginebra will aim to quickly eliminate the 9th-seeded Hotshots, which obliterated the Gin Kings in their elimination round matchup in October.

If Star wins, a do-or-die game will be held on December 27, Sunday, also at the MOA Arena to decide which team moves on to phase two of the quarterfinals.
The winner of Ginebra vs. Star will face the winner of GlobalPort vs. Barako Bull, both of whom will also face each other on Christmas Day.
